C A Caroline Swanson Hall

Built in 1948.

  • It was Children's Memorial Hospital until the hospital moved out to 84th & West Dodge Road in 1981.

  • In 1973, the building was home to the Swanson Center for Nutrition, which was founded by Gretchen Swanson Velde as a result of the deep interest in food and nutrition fostered by her family, longtime leaders in the food industry.

  • Yes, it is the same Swanson as in Swanson TV Dinners!

  • In 1990, the name was changed to the C.A. and Caroline Swanson Hall.

  • In 2013, the history of the building was celebrated before the site was cleared to build the future cancer center.
