- This is the first building that was completed on campus in 1913.
- Originally named the North Laboratory.
- Re-named Poynter Hall in 1970 in memory of the late Dr. Charles W.M. Poynter, who served as dean of the College of Medicine from 1930 through 1946.
- The building was renovated and reopened in October 2012 and is the home of the Department of Psychiatry.
- Budget for the remodeling project was $9.1 million dollars with LB 605 funds.
- Remodel included a new entry on 42nd Street.
