• The Scotts provided multiple lead gifts for ​several new buildings on the UNMC campus ​(medicine, nursing, public health, and the UNMC ​Center for Drug Discovery/ Lozier Center for ​Pharmacy Sciences and Education.)
  
• The Scotts always name the buildings after ​others so it was decided that the student plaza ​should be named after the Scotts to honor their ​generosity.
• Located within an area from 42nd St to 38th Ave ​and from Dewey Ave to Jones St.
• In addition to the light tower, the plaza is home ​to 6 other art pieces, more than 100 trees, 350 ​shrubs, and over 4,000 perennial plants
  

The Hope Tower is located on the student plaza.
